Once again, International Book Day is here to remind us that if reading is a journey that enriches the soul, the book is the passport to that fascinating journey that starts at the bedside table and ends in a destination as uncertain as it is captivating.
And since using TIMP as management software in a business is synonymous with more free time, taking advantage of our passion for reading, we have taken advantage of a good read in those moments of leisure that the program gives us.
That’s why on this special occasion we would like to offer you a selection of books that we have enjoyed, closely related to several of the sectors that we support on a daily basis.
We love to keep up to date with the trends that inspire our clients!
All set to dive into its pages?
Lean back in your favorite armchair, make sure you have good light, a cup of hot coffee at hand and… let’s open these books at the beginning.
Julia Arteaga, creator of the website Yoguineando, is a yogi and teacher with a very clear objective: to bring yoga to the general public by betting on naturalness and humor in the teaching of her practice.
Moving away from the strict mysticism that usually accompanies this discipline, in his classes he does not renounce to the knowledge of the principles and philosophy that lead his practitioners to improve their health and spirituality, thus achieving greater control of body and mind.
And by translating this approach to paper, in Yoga with humor Julia combines a close and honest tone in the explanations with nice illustrations that she herself made and that bring to light funny moments -and often hilarious- that occur in the usual practice of yoga and that are rarely discussed outside.
A highly recommended reading if you are starting in the world of yoga and want to be talked about the subject in an understandable and very entertaining language.
It is common in the fitness industry to find experts who know everything there is to know about personal training, but when it comes time to start out and become self-employed personal trainers, they don’t know where to begin.
This book by Evaristo Molina is aimed precisely at them: because knowing how to train does not guarantee that you will succeed in the task of managing your training business.
With a didactic and very practical language, Evaristo sheds light on concepts as fundamental for any trainer who wants to undertake as customer acquisition, pricing strategy or loyalty systems, which as he himself explains are not taught at university when you study Physical Activity and Sport Sciences.
In short, if you want to enter the world of personal training but the worlds of business and marketing are completely unfamiliar to you, The Personal Trainer’s MBA is the book for you.
It is no secret that more and more ultra-processed products are consumed, i.e. industrial preparations that are passed off as food, but are not food at all.
And guess what: over time eating them ends up being very harmful to our health.
The big problem is that their food disguise is quite convincing and recognizing them is often complicated.
Nor does it help that being so surrounded by this type of product makes us not even consider its suitability as food.
For this reason, Carlos Ríos, a dietician-nutritionist from Huelva who is inspired by his grandmother’s recipes as the ultimate exponents of real cooking, set out to disseminate a model of healthy eating which he called Realfooding in reference to that way of eating based on unprocessed food (or with minimal industrial processing).
In other words, the dishes of a lifetime.
A real phenomenon in social networks, Carlos elaborates in Eat real food a complete guide to healthy eating, full of tips and tricks to quickly create recipes that are as delicious as they are healthy.
And you, are you a realfooder?
If a moment ago we talked about fitness as a business, now it is the turn of training in daily practice.
Cesc Escolà is a personal trainer very popular in social networks for being the fitness teacher of Operación Triunfo in its 2020 edition, but especially for presenting the TVE program Muévete en casa, which was a great success during the period of confinement.
In Mucho más que fitness Cesc brings to his readers a series of nutritional guidelines and sports habits to be in shape with a direct and very graphic exposition of contents, which makes training something fun and accessible for the whole family.
In addition, Cesc is very aware of the primordial role that motivation plays in maintaining a fitness routine.
For this reason, a part of the book is dedicated to cultivate that drive that is necessary to be constant and dedicate a few hours a week to exercise.
And to achieve this, he exemplifies it with his own story, something that brings veracity and closeness to his advice.
Perhaps the least mediatic of the books we recommend but equally interesting, Physiotherapy and exercise in pregnancy and postpartum is a manual that aims to debunk the myth that you should not practice sports while pregnant.
Its author, Francisco Javier Castillo Montes, is a prolific popularizer specializing in books on physiotherapy, which in this volume provides valuable information on the benefits of physical activity during pregnancy through training programs specifically adapted.
Specifically, it talks about the preventive and palliative capacity of physiotherapy and controlled physical exercise against possible complications during pregnancy.
Not only that, but they can also improve the quality of life of women in the postpartum phase.
It is undoubtedly a very interesting book for any pregnant woman who wants to improve her general condition during this crucial stage of her life.
What do you think of our suggestions for this book day?

So don’t wait any longer, run to your favorite bookstore and embark on any of these 5 amazing journeys.
You won’t be disappointed.
