If you are running a fitness or wellness business you will know that more and more studios and centers are using mobile apps to manage their bookings.
Nowadays, booking a yoga class or a physiotherapy session through an app has become a favorite option for many users.
Centers that manage their reservations through applications that include intelligent calendars, as is the case with TIMP s software, make it easier for their users to organize themselves with greater freedom and convenience.

At TIMP we have found that if you give your customers the freedom to book when they want and when they can, they use that freedom to choose your center again.
Among all the possibilities offered by the TIMP app, today we would like to take a closer look at one of the most popular options among managers and users: intelligent queuing.

How does queuing work?

In addition to giving your customers the autonomy to book and cancel their appointments, the TIMP app allows your users to queue up if the session is full.
This way, if any of the people who had booked a session cancels, TIMP automatically notifies the users in the queue to fill the free seat.
In this help center article you can learn step by step how to enable or disable this functionality and how to configure its different options.
As a manager you have the possibility to choose, for example, how long your customers will have to accept the free slot or with which criteria the notification is sent to the customers who have queued up.

Choose who to notify of the vacancy

From the TIMP dashboard you can choose different ways to notify your clients that the session slot has been released.
Until now, you could choose between notifying everyone at once or respecting the queuing order.
  • All at once: When you choose this option an automatic notification is sent to all customers at the same time. The first one who accepts the available slot makes the reservation and the rest are kept in queue in case of another cancellation.

  • In order of reservation: When you choose this option a notification is sent following the order of the queued reservations.
    The first user to be queued will be the first to accept the slot.
    This first user has a specific time, the time chosen by the manager, to accept the reservation.
    If he/she does not accept it, the notification is sent to the next customer in the queue and so on.
As we were saying, until now the TIMP panel had these two notification criteria, but from today you have at your disposal a third option that you may find very interesting.

Intelligent queue: prioritizes customers without other reservations


If you have activated queuing in your booking calendar, you have probably experienced the following situation: one of your customers has a confirmed booking in one class but has simultaneously queued in another.

For this type of situation we have included a new option, that of prioritizing customers without other reservations.
  • Prioritize clients without other reservations.
    With this possibility that we have just added to the TIMP panel you have the power to give priority to people who do not have any confirmed reservation and are just waiting for that slot to be released.
This option causes customers who have a confirmed reservation on the same day for the same service to be automatically placed in the last position.
What is the purpose of this?
The purpose of this system is to encourage reservations that have already been made to be maintained and to make it easier for free slots to be filled only by users who would not come to your center at any other time.

Now you know, queuing is designed so that you can forget about changes and cancellations of your users.
