At TIMP we continue to facilitate the work of the centers that trust us to manage their business, and in these days of quarantine by COVID-19 it is necessary to offer online sessions for users to enjoy their services from home.

That’s why we have included the Online Sessions tool in all TIMP plans, free of charge, which does just that.

It is very easy to use:

  • The first step is to choose an online classroom platform (Zoom is the most common) and organize a video meeting.
Once this is done, copy the link to share it.
  • Next, create an online session in TIMP or quickly convert an existing one in your session calendar to online.
Or better yet: generate a complete schedule of “online sessions”.
  • Once you have created your online session in TIMP, add the Zoom link (or the platform of your choice) and schedule the day and time you want it to be sent to your clients via email/push notification in the TIMP app.
By clicking on this link your users will join the session from home.

Easy, isn’t it?

The good thing about all this is that TIMP now integrates with platforms like this, allowing you to include the link to the Zoom video meeting in the online session you have scheduled in TIMP and making its management the same as if it were an in-person session: you can schedule it in your center calendar, assign it a rate and offer it in the TIMP booking app so that your clients can book it and pay for it even through the app using the in-app payment function.

At TIMP we never stop moving forward and soon you will be able to dispense with this type of platform: you will be able to create the online session and also deliver it from the TIMP panel itself.
In the meantime, these platforms are an agile and effective option to deliver the online sessions you create in your panel.

Here ‘s how Zoom, the leading platform for teaching online classes, works.

What does Zoom consist of?

With this platform you can organize video meetings for a specific day and time.

With the free plan, you can hold a 40-minute videoconference for a maximum of 100 participants.
On the other hand, if your classes are going to last longer, with the Pro plan of 13.99€/month the limit for each meeting is 24 hours.
More than enough for one of your sessions, right?

And if you need to add more users you can do it by adding the Large Meeting add-on.
In the Zoom website section on pricing you will find more information.

Organize your Zoom meeting

The first thing you need to do is to create a Zoom account, a process that will only take a couple of minutes.

As for how it works, it is as simple as scheduling the meeting you want to hold and leaving it paused until the day and time it starts. The link you get is the one you will insert in the TIMP online session reminder that you will send to your clients so that they can join the meeting when the time comes.

Something very interesting is that when you give your online session you will be able to see at all times who is in the videoconference, expel participants who do not respect the class rules and have a record of the attendees at the end, in case you need to consult it at any time.

You will also be able to record the session from Zoom for later viewing, as well as send the resulting video file to your users using the TIMP Mailbox, upload it to your YouTube account or share it on social networks.

Zoom highlights

This platform provides you with several very useful tools when you are going to teach online sessions.
Some of the most useful ones are:

Virtual whiteboard
: with it you can accompany your explanations with drawings and annotations that complement the subject you are dealing with.

Screen sharing
: thanks to this functionality you will be able to show your users what you are viewing on your own computer screen, such as a video you have open in another window or a PDF document you are consulting.

Side-by-side mode
: this option complements the previous one, since it allows you to show your screen and the video collected by your webcam so that they can see you at the same time as they watch the screen you show them.

Chat
: in addition to communicating with your users through image and sound, you can write to them whenever you need to.

Other online meeting platforms

Although Zoom offers the most options and enjoys the greatest popularity, there are other platforms with which you can also organize video meetings, for example:

Skype

A classic for online calls and video calls, it has long been the star platform in this aspect.

With Skype you can make free group video calls with up to 50 participants on any mobile or desktop device.

It also allows you to share screen and show slideshows to your users.

Jitsi

It is a booming platform that gives you the possibility to organize a free video meeting without registration or user limit.
With Jitsi you simply log on to the website and create a new meeting.

Unlike Zoom, however, Jitsi does not allow you to create a meeting and leave it paused until the day it starts: it will start the moment you create it and end when the last of your users disconnects.

Now you just have to choose the platform you like the most and start scheduling your online sessions with TIMP.

Of course, the online sessions you create in TIMP will be visible in ClassPass and Andjoy if you have these modules active.
So anyone will be able to find you and book your classes online.
